The staff at Abbotts Ann Nursery School are all qualified to, or are working towards, at least Level 3 NVQ in Early Years Care and Education, first aid and food hygiene. All key workers are trained to Safeguarding Level 3. The Manager and Deputy are trained to Safeguarding Level 4. The Manager is a trained SENCO. All staff commit to ongoing training and professional development. There is a good ratio of child to adult that is well within government guidelines.
We operate a key person approach that encourages strong bonds for children, families and other professionals. The key person communicates regularly with parents both formally and informally. They are also responsible for the children's ongoing assessments by using observational information from all staff and other agencies. The key person approach supports children as part of a continuous and reflective method. It creates a safe and motivating relationship enabling children to be high achievers.
