Yuletide Fayre

On Sunday November 17th between midday and 4.00pm we will be holding our annual Yuletide Fayre.

Join us to meet the animals from Barefoot Barns, let your little ones take part in our fun, festive activities and browse the carefully curated selection of artisan stalls.

You can even let us sort out lunch as we will be joined by the Focaccia Co who will be offering sandwiches and light bites.

We are also looking for donations of cakes, biscuits or mince pies for the refreshment stall.

Each year we offer a range of hot drinks and refreshments along with sweet treats, this is hugely popular so whether you are a star baker or simply add an extra treat to your food order we would be very happy to have contributions to the refreshments stall.

AANS now “Curiosity Approach” Accredited

Today, Abbotts Ann Nursery School Team have been awarded our accreditation for the Cusiosity Approach. We are super proud of our hard work over the last year! We would like to thank you all for the support and encouragement as well as understanding with the changes we have made to AANS since starting the approach.

It has proven our children are more engaged now than they have ever been in AANS and it is all to do with the approach to learning, we have worked so very hard on..

We are the only Curiosity Setting in Hampashire and we can not wait to continue to grow within in setting where we can create a generation of thinkers and doers.

Thank you again.

EYA Fair Funding

Support the Early Years Alliance Fair Future Funding Campaign

In April 2017, a new early years funding system will be introduced in England which will see a rise in the overall average funding rates that local authorities receive from central government. However, the government has confirmed that the funding increase has been ‘frontloaded’, meaning that no further increase will be available until the next Parliament. In addition, a quarter of local authorities will see a drop in their funding rates.

With rising business costs – and in particular, the ‘national living wage’ which is set to increase to £9 per hour in 2020 – we believe that this approach is completely unsustainable, and unfair on early years providers already struggling to stay afloat.

OFSTED REPORT

AANS was inspected by Ofsted in May 2019 and achieved a ‘Good’ rating, matching that awarded at its previous inspection in 2017.

The inspector commented that, ‘Children behave well‘ and ‘they ask questions and listen to the responses’.

Staff we also praised with the inspector commenting that, ‘Staff build positive partnerships with parents and professionals. These  partnerships help to ensure children receive the support that they need to make good progress from their starting points’.

Well done to all our fantastic staff. This is an excellent outcome following such a challenging time.
