Qualified Staff
The staff at Abbotts Ann Nursery School are all qualified to, or are working towards, at least Level 3 NVQ in Early Years Care and Education, first aid and food hygiene. All key workers are trained to Safeguarding Level 3. The Manager and Deputy are trained to Safeguarding Level 4.
The deputy Manager is a trained SENCO. All staff commit to ongoing training and professional development. There is a good ratio of child to adult that is well within government guidelines.
We operate a key person approach that encourages strong bonds for children, families and other professionals. The key person communicates regularly with parents both formally and informally. They are also responsible for the children’s ongoing assessments by using observational information from all staff and other agencies. The key person approach supports children as part of a continuous and reflective method. It creates a safe and motivating relationship enabling children to be high achievers.

A Committed Committee
The committee is very proactive at Abbotts Ann Nursery School and they make themselves familiar with all aspects of the setting. As parents of children who attend the nursery, they are able to work together closely with the management team to provide a sustainable business that meets the needs of the village and surrounding area.
The committee ensures that the setting is following all governmental initiatives and that it provides the best care and educational environment possible. Roles on the committee enable adults to share their expertise with others and to develop individual skills.
We have very strong links with the community and pride ourselves on our close partnership with parents. Parents are actively involved in fund raising, consultation meetings, festivals and celebrations. We organise days out and topic days supporting national and local charities.
The committee is responsible for all policies and procedures are up to date and reflect current changes in legislation and recommendations. All policies and procedures are available online and on request.
